[August 26] |
After a very eventful summer, it is nice to finally be back at school. Unfortunately, I did not have time to visit my mother and family at home, between my visit to India, the workshop (thank you to all who attended!) and now preparing for the school year. I am already considering a visit over the Christmas holiday, but summertime is much more pleasant. It might have to wait until next summer instead.
This week has been busy already, but I think I am nearly ready for the school year. Welcome to our new teachers! And to our students when they arrive!
Warded to Charity:
The new room now has a bed. What should I fix up next?
And I have another question. We have new teachers this year, and I went around to meet them today because I wanted to make sure they feel welcome. When I met Alicia Spinnet (she is teaching Grade A, like Nico!), she excused herself immediately, saying she had to set up her classroom, but we were in her classroom, and then she said she had to get something, and then she just left. Why would she do that?

[July 21] |
I cannot believe how quickly time flies! It seems as only yesterday that I arrived in India, and suddenly, I will be home in a little over a week! Sadly, I cannot spend my entire summer here, though I would very much like to. India is fascinating, and so much warmer than I am used to. Aside from assisting Rolf in his research, I have been what you call a "tourist." There is so much history here, and so much to see. I am very lucky to have been able to meet others like me here and to converse with them about our lives and different cultures. They taught me many useful things, and I showed them how we build our homes! It was a very successful few days. I have also been shopping and have purchased a great many things. If I had flown here, I do not know how I would get any of my purchases home!
Warded Private:
I was sure that she would find time to visit. It seems I was Never mind. It is not worth worrying about.

[June 13] |
Happy birthday to me!
Charity gave me the best birthday present earlier this evening. My mother also sent me a package! A very good day indeed. I would have liked to go home for my birthday, as we always throw the most lavish parties, but it was not meant o be this year.

[June 06] |
Warded Private:
I am still not sure what to think of discovering who my father is. Rolf had a good point: there are worse things that finding out that your best friend is also your blood brother. He was already a brother to me, but I cannot help but wonder if this will change everything. I do not know what I would do if Rolf was no longer my best friend.
Mother has finally agreed to talk about Leif my father, but only if I visit her. I wish I knew why she kept it from us. Certainly we deserved to know the truth long ago? What good has come of keeping it a secret?
At least there is Charity to keep my mind off this. I should call on her again soon. Perhaps this time we can test out the sofa

[May 19] |
I met my father on Sunday.
Warded to Rolf:
Our Your father visited me on Sunday. He had something very interesting to tell me. He said we are brothers.
Warded to Charity:
Do you have plans for this weekend?

[May 10] |
Warded to Rolf:
How long should one wait to contact a new acquaintance? I have read that men must wait three days before contacting a woman, and so I have been trying to resist as to not seem desperate, but it is difficult. Also, why would a woman not stay to converse after I buy her a drink? She did say she needed to return to her brother, but I do not understand. Is this a normal custom? For the men to buy drinks for women and the women to leave shortly after? I should understand these customs by now, but back home, it is different.
How is India?

[April 17] |
The dance competition is tonight! I returned from India this afternoon so that I might be able to attend, but I don't have a partner yet! Would anyone like to be my dance partner?
I bought some very beautiful clothes in India. Not as beautiful as the clothing made at home, but still very nice. Indians have not discovered how to harness moonbeams and sunshine to weave into fabric, but some of the threads did resemble ours from home. I have a shirt that nearly sparkles!

What is the point of April Fool's Day? Wouldn't it be more fun to surprise people when it is not at all expected?

[March 13] |
Quidditch is so fascinating.
I am going to see the match between the Magpies and the Prides tomorrow! Thank you, Terry!
But which team should I cheer for?
